At ONEC Nations Ltd., we are constantly looking for ways to build deep connections with communities and create meaningful engagement with Indigenous Peoples, businesses, and local First Nations. We are committed to the prosperity of Indigenous communities, and it’s crucial that our approach to Indigenous Relations—whether recruiting Indigenous candidates, supporting their career growth, or working alongside Indigenous communities and businesses—considers the histories, cultures, and values of Indigenous Peoples.
We provide management services for both existing and future Indigenous partnerships at ONEC to support Operational Excellence and Indigenous Inclusion practices in the execution of design-build project work in the power, utilities, housing, renewables, agriculture, chemicals, oil & gas, and metals & mining sectors.
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach, so we craft solutions that work for the project, the customer, and the community, understanding that successful Indigenous project participation is built on a foundation of mutual respect, common goals, opportunities for employment and sub-contracting, and an understanding of the local community.
We focus on collaborating with First Nations in the areas in which we work to build long-term relationships. We work to engage leadership early in the planning and implementation stages of projects to ensure local employment opportunities, local business capacity, and the development and maximization of on-the-job training for local residents.
